As one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, Mandarin Chinese has a massive impact on our globalised society. Many consider Chinese to be the language of the future, often touting it as the tongue that will someday overtake English. Mandarin has managed to become a global language all the while hailing from a nation where it is only one of many different dialects spoken.

Task Two: Translate the following passage from Chinese into English (20 points)

中秋節(jié)大約在唐朝成為全國官方認(rèn)可的節(jié)假日。在唐朝時期，中秋之風(fēng)俗開始盛行，賞月的習(xí)俗，伴隨著神話故事，比如嫦娥奔月與楊貴妃變月神的故事，口口相誦。中秋節(jié)是所有家庭年年團聚之期，中秋之夜是賞月、吃月餅之時。
